Dear ABBOA members,
GOOD NEWS !
For the past four years, the Bank had set numerous of conditions for ABBOA recognition. Since all conditions had been fulfilled by ABBOA but the recognition was not coming forth, the matter was referred to the Ministry of Human Resources. The Minister, Human Resource had on 2 June 2008 accorded recognition to ABBOA. Under section 9 sub-section (6) of Industrial Relation Act, the Minister's decision is final and shall not be challenged in any court.
WHAT'S NEXT ?
i) COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT
Under Industrial Relations Act Section13 states that where a trade union is accorded recognition, we may invite the Bank to commence collective bargaining. However, before we submit our Collective Agreement to Human Resource, members are welcome to forward their suggestions. Please peruse the drafted Collective Agreement at the following ABBOA blog address : http://abboa4u.blogspot.com/
Kindly forward your suggestions on the Collective Agreement before 11 July 2008 via ABBOA's blog. We seek your cooperation to observe the deadline so that we can get the Collective Agreement ' off the ground' as soon as possible.
ABBOA members are reminded NOT TO USE Affinbank e-mail to forward their suggestions to avoid traffic cogestion in the Bank's intranet. Let us put our commitment together and share the responsibility for our 1st Collective Agreement proposal.
ii) MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION
ABBOA members are required to update the details and sign the salary deduction authorization letter. You are to forward the fully completed authorisation letter to ABBOA Secretary, Mr Arichantheran of Special Asset Management at 7th Floor, Menara Affin.
While waiting for "check-off" approval from the Bank, ABBOA members are required to pay their RM10.00 monthly subscription starting from June 2008 onwards. Please credit into our Affinbank account no : 100020301252 and forward the confirmation slip to our Treasurer, En. Nasruddin of Finance Department at 9th Floor, Menara Affin.
We foresee that ABBOA shall require legal advise and expetise to coclude the Collective Agreement negotiations. The MINIMUM COST is estimated at RM20,000. So, please do not let ABBOA down.
